Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) Basically, this is the creative core team of "Flaming Row" that brought us the awesome monumental Stephen King adaptation "The Pure Shine". While the latter is at home in symphonic prog, it contains quite some folk spice, which makes it special. "The Oblivion Tales" are much more acoustically oriented, so the same folk trait gets even more explicit. This is one of the best German rock albums I've listened to in a while, spanning the arc from 70s folk rock over to our times. Favorite track: 10 Erinnerungen.

Not all that long ago Between the streams of the whitewater Was a small town down below A place of 300 souls Most of them worked underground In the silvermine Juliane-Sophie And yet others Support themselves as lumberjacks Common people So satisfied Living peaceful In such a perfect world The day will dawn when everything will change The people were so unaware only memories will remain Below the lowest water level The spire and the old bridge Come to light From the lake in the mist of the valley You may hear the bells chime Every spring after the thaw The water flooded all the valleys Many people lost their alls Life an hometowns were destroyed Rainmakers came to present their best solution That ment a radical chance Their small town had to make way for a catchment lake The day had come And everything had changed The people had to face the truth Only memories will remain Below the lowest water level The spire and the old bridge Come to light From the lake in the mist of the valley You may hear the bells chime Do you remember the long forgotten Tales of this lost place The spire and the old bridge Come to light From the lake in the mist of the valley You may hear the bells chime Below the lowest water level The spire and the old bridge Come to light From the lake in the mist of the valley You may hear the bells chime

Sitting here at the campfire Watching the lonely dance of the flames Reflections revolve around Missing your voice, your face again and again Treasured memories begin to fade There is so much emptiness The night falls and The heat of the fire burns my skin Stand in the middle on half that glade Start to recognize fall in the shade You are always with me And my thoughts are always with you When it seems unreal You are there – pale I know how I feel You're bright your pale In loving memory You are there – pale Believe you care for me You're bright and pale The tide is strong and it had killed you Such a vision that my voice may steal Out of the dark of the shade Into the bright, sparkly Moonlight on the glade The river keeps the secret of you It hurts instead who will remember you I sing this song it reminds me of you It reminds me of... Stand in the middle - on half that glade Start to recognize - fall in the shade You are always with me And my thoughts are always When it seems unreal You are there – pale I know how I feel You're bright your pale In loving memory You are there – pale Believe you care for me You're bright and pale

What if there was no music? What would happen to you and me? How would we reveal our feelings? Could we tell stories 'bout the history? How to get the little ones off to bed? Every movie - boring and bad No perfect sale in the commercial break No Kansas song like their „Portrait“ Oh, these thoughts are like a bad dream And false reality We bring a melody to life And words become a song Let's sing a favourite melody When you play the guitar it inspires me Set words to a tune In a harmony And annoying our families This is all that we need For our lifelong dreams Such a perfect time Words are spinning in our minds Anyhow, we can try Today it's time to write a new song But we're struggling with the words Pondering in front of a piece of paper No dazzling idea – maybe later The chord progression – already heared before More is less or less is more We're racking our brains but it's all too lame Driving us insane We bring a melody to life And words become a song Let's sing a favourite melody When you play the guitar it inspires me Set words to a tune In a harmony And annoying our families This is all that we need For our lifelong dreams Such a perfect time Words are spinning in our minds We can try Beautiful how you sing for me Beautiful how you play for me Because your tunes inspire me Let's sing a melody My words in your harmony Beautiful how you play for me This is all – all I'll ever need

Sometimes, darkness fills your mind Your heart is broken And all pain captured inside But if you close your eyes You see a warm light That shines so bright Into the night – cold night Leaving all behind And come home to you Just the best I can do I will hold you Leaving all behind And lay down in your arms Memories, of better days When you were by my side And everything was easy Hearing your laughter And feeling your breathe on my neck You keep me save and warm – so warm Leaving all behind And come home to you Just the best I can do For me and you Leaving all behind And lay down in your arms When time goes by And feelings hide Hold me tight Leaving all behind And come home to you Just the best I can do For me and you Leaving all behind And lay down in you arms In your arms Close to the heart

In times immemorial In the shades beyond the forest Lived the Big One isolated and lonely There were nobody else could be seen He answered to the name Bodo And when he saw her, for the first time He desired the heart of the beautiful lady But she smiled him away... When I roam through the forest And think about the tales That my grandsire told me Legends and tales from earlier bygone days I wish I could be this lighthearted child And make them alive There came the day, The princess Brunhilda went for a ride In the dark, deep, misty woodland After a short time, she bursted upon the Big One She gave a smile and passed him by But he took the chance and tried to capture her There was only one way to escape She claps spurs to her horse and bounced upon the valley In the opposing baron ground The Big One obeyed her But he was so ponderous and fell down the canyon And was turned into a sharped black dog When I roam through the forest And think about the tales That my grandsire told me Legends and tales from earlier bygone days I wish I could be this lighthearted child And amazed listen to ancient times When the giant an his princess Were still alive After the hooves have reached the other side And a horseshoe was left behind The princess was safe and sound But she had lost her clunky crown Brunhilda took a scared look into the abyss By the riverside She saw the giant was turned into stone Relieved she rode away When I roam through the forest And think about the tales That my grandsire told me Legends and tales from earlier bygone days I wish I could be this lighthearted child And amazed listen to ancient times When the giant an his princess Were still alive In times immemorial, the river is named after Bodo The crown is cursed forever and ever Nobody will recover

Near the western side of the Mississippi In the time of the 19th century Was a large territory with fertile land Suitable for livestock farming The story tells about some forgotten cowboys Who could tame the wild horses And they chased after evil bandits That's the life in the wild wild west The hunter catches the outlaw And he tries to escape death But sooner as he guessed His head is in the hangman's noose They bore the names Sundance Kid, Cole Younger, Frank & Jesse James, Billy The Kid Still the most legendary gunfighter of the wild west An unfearing, angry young man At least he had the death of four men on his conscience He lived a short and dangerous life He died at 22, killed in an ambush That's the life in the wild wild west The hunter catches the outlaw And he tries to escape death But sooner as he guessed His head is in the hangman's noose That's the life in the wild west For whom the bell tolls Don't need to beg for mercy And all that is left Is the final request The life in the wild west The hunter catch the outlaw And he tries to escape death But sooner as he guessed His head is in the hangman's noose That's the life in the wild wild west The hunter catch the outlaw And he tries to escape death (For whom the bell tolls) (Don't need to beg for mercy) And all that is left Is the final request All that remains of the wild west heroes Is good for the scripts of Tarantino More than names on a piece of paper Just history...

I woke up this morning and I am still feeling tired So much to do and so little time I want to hide beneath my blanket The question is merely do I have a choice? I hear soft voices from the children's room Suddenly a laughter, what's happening now? I am curious and getting up fast I am opening the door and there a pillow fight! You are my life You give me the strength To keep you safe and warm I see myself in your eyes You are a part of me – forevermore 'Cause of you, I have learned a lot of new things To see the world through children's eyes You bring so much joy into my life I am sure you can change the world Never cease to inspire me With your laughter and your fantasy You are my life You give me the strength To keep you safe and warm I see myself in your eyes You are a part of me You are my life You give me the strength To keep you safe and warm I see myself in your eyes You are a part of me – forevermore Never cease to inspire me With your laughter, your fantasy My dear children open your hearts And be yourselves You are my life You give me the strength To keep you safe and warm I see myself in your eyes You are a part of me - forevermore You are my life You give me the strength To keep you safe and warm I see myself in your eyes You are a part of me – forevermore

He was a kind and wise ruler With a heart that was made of gold He wore a grey curly beard down to his belly Blessed with the power of magic The king of the dwarfs Once upon a time, a woodmans son and his fellows Were roaming through the forest While climbing up the dwarfs king stones He wanted to show his courage Without listening to his friends warnings He was a kind and wise ruler With a heart that was made of gold He wore a grey curly beard down to his belly Blessed with the power of magic The king of the dwarfs It was bound to happen The king was incensed Noone ever was allowed to set foot on his rocks So the woodmans son was banished At the top of the stone forever The fellows brought word to the widowed father Words that broke his heart He was a kind and wise ruler With a heart that was made of gold He wore a grey curly beard down to his belly Blessed with the power of magic The king of the dwarfs The only thing he could do Was to take the sons life So the forester set out for his son And wished he died with his wife He met a little man and cried on his shoulder The little man was noone else than the kindhearted dwarf king Who felt sorry for him The only way to free his son Was shooting him with his gun But the dwarfs gathered in the same place to protect the lost boy So they pelted the forester with pine cones by themselves They built a ladder to pave the way for the king With an august eye and in a large voice He gave him the last chance to safe his life If he had regrets about what he did And the lad did Ever after the woodmans son promised That no human being will ever touch the stones anymore
